STEP 1: INDIA RELIGIOUS MISSIONARY VISA


Carefully Review the Following Information & Gather Together the Required Documents

Passport


Your actual, currently valid & signed passport must be submitted with your India Religious Missionary Visa Application.
The passport needs to have a minimum two blank side by side visa pages and must not be expiring 6 months or less from the date you return into the United States.

U.S citizens should note that the last six pages of your U.S. Passport cannot be used for entry/exit stamps or visa issuance. These are amendment pages specifically designated for US State Department use only.

Photo


Two passport photographs will be needed for your Indian Religious Missionary Visa Application submission.

  • taken at a reputable facility such as Walgreen’s, CVS or Fed Ex.

Copy of ID


A clear color copy of your current and valid drivers license or state ID will be needed as proof of your residential address for your India religious missionary visa application. This is to establish which consular jurisdiction you reside in.

If necessary, the Embassy of India & Indian Consulates will also accept a clear color copy of either a major utility bill (electric/gas/water/sewage) or a current valid lease containing both landlord and tenant signatures.

Important Note: The address on the whichever proof of residence you provide cannot be a P.O. Box and must match exactly what you input as "present address" on the India business visa application form. In addition, the "Present Address" will be used as the return shipping address by the Embassy of India or Indian Consulate.

 

Invitation Letter


Three copies of a letter of invitation from the sponsoring organization in India indicating the intended destination in India, expected length of stay, and the exact nature of the visit should be attached along with a guarantee financial responsible and accommodations for the applicant while in India.

 

Minors


For minors under 18 applying for an Indian Religious Missionary Visa, please provide a clear color copy of a Birth Certificate and main information pages of both parents passports.

 

Processing Times

Processing Times for US Citizens and Legal Residents in the United States, average current processing times are 6-10 business days.

Processing times for most applications submitted for religious missionary visas extend beyond the requested time frame and are frequently denied by the Indian Government. UVC cannot guarantee neither the processing time nor issuance of this visa type.

Applicants without permanent residence status or have had it for less than two years normally have their applications referred back to India and can experience extended visa processing times.

Travelers who remain in India beyond the validity of their visa could face possible detention and significant penalties.

Applicants of Indian Origin are required to surrender their Indian citizenship. Those who have already renounced Indian citizenship must provide a copy of both their renunciation certificate & naturalization certificate. Persons of Indian origin who have not renounced Indian citizenship or cannot provide evidence of renunciation must apply for renunciation and/or Visa directly through CKGS.
UVC cannot assist with the Indian citizenship renunciation process.


Applicants of Pakistani Origin or that have held a Pakistani passport must make a personal appearance to apply for an Indian visa at the Indian Embassy / Consulate. UVC is unable to assist in the visa process for any applicants that are Pakistan nationals or of Pakistani origin.


Applicants of Sri Lankan Origin nationals and nationals of Sri Lanka must complete and sign two copies of the Additional Information Form for Sri Lankan Nationals.


Applicants of Bangladeshi Origin and nationals of Bangladesh must complete and sign two copies of the Additional Information Form for Bangladeshi Nationals.

 

STEP 2: INDIA RELIGIOUS MISSIONARY VISA

Fill out completely, then print & sign two copies of the Indian Governments Online India Religious Missionary Visa Application Form.
The application should be printed on two separate sheets of paper and not double sided on a single sheet. This should be send to UVC along with all supporting documents.

 

For minors signing the application form should sign their name inside the signature box under the photo on first page of the application.
For Minors too young to sign their name, the child's thumbprint must be stamped inside the signature box under the photo on first page of the application.
Both of the child's parents must sign the second page of the application, and both parents' signatures must be notarized. Applications without both parents' notarized signatures will not be accepted. The minor child should not sign the second page.
