Tourist Visa Information


U.S. Citizens: Citizens of the United States traveling to Italy for tourism purposes are issued a visa upon arrival for a stay up to 90 days.

Legal U.S. Residents: Requirements for non-US passport holders traveling to Italy for tourism will vary depending on their nationality. UVC is unable to assist at this time. Please contact the nearest Embassy/Consulate of Italy.

Passport Information


A passport is required for tourist travel to Italy.
Your passport should be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of your departure from Italy and it should have at least 2 blank visa pages for Italian entry and exit stamps.

Business Visa Information


U.S. Citizens: Citizens of the United States traveling to Italy for business/commercial purposes are issued a visa upon arrival for a stay up to 90 days.

Legal U.S. Residents: Requirements for non-US passport holders traveling to Italy for business purposes will vary depending on their nationality. UVC is unable to assist at this time. Please contact the nearest Embassy/Consulate of Italy.

Please Note: Any U.S Citizens who would like to travel to Italy for purposes other than business or leisure should contact the nearest Italian Consulate or Embassy directly.


SCHENGEN VISA INFORMATION

The Schengen visa is valid for the following 24 European countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain & Sweden.

Important Notes:

  • A Schengen visa issued by an Embassy or Consulate of one of these countries allows the holder to travel freely in all of these countries.
  • If you intend to visit only one Schengen country, you must apply through the embassy or consulate of that particular country.
  • If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa through the embassy or consulate of the country which is your main destination.
  • If you intend to visit several countries but do not have a main destination, you should apply for a visa at the embassy or consulate of the country which is your first port of entry.
  • If you do not need a visa for the Schengen country which is your main destination or first point of entry, please note that you may require a visa for other Schengen countries you wish to visit. You should then apply through the embassy or consulate of the first country which does require a visa.
  • The period of stay for US citizens visiting the Schengen states is a total of three months of cumulative stay in the combined member states during any six months period.
