Due to the public health measures that have been put into place to try and limit the spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus), effective from March 20, 2020, only customers needing a passport for immediate international travel within 72 hours due to a verifiable life or death emergency will be allowed appointments. Situations that qualify as life or death emergencies are serious illnesses, injuries, or deaths in your immediate family. You will need to provide evidence such as a death certificate, statement from a mortuary, or letter from a hospital which must be translated into English. Applicants that qualify must make an appointment to apply in person through the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778. Although US Visa Connection cannot process applications at this time, we are happy to assist by answering questions and offering advice as we can.
To date, a majority of countries have implemented travel restrictions including entry and exit limitations, visa and work permit issuance, port closures, social distancing advisements and quarantine rules in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus). If you have traveled to a country or region affected by coronavirus within the past 14 days you should expect additional questions upon entry and a medical evaluation. There is a possibilty you could be denied entry or even involuntarily detained and quarantined. It is advised if at all possible to avoid any international travel at this time.
